About

-Bio

Romanian-born and raised, I am currently based in Lausanne, Switzerland. I started photography during my master studies in Tokyo in 2004 as an attemp to share my experiences with friends and family. Along the way, I have developed a buring desire to travel and experience new places, all the while capturing some of these experiences on the camera's sensor.

-Images

My main photographic intrest consists in travel photography. Since 2008, I have developed a personal technique of shooting travel images in HDR (High Dynamic Range technique). The current version of the web-site is structured according to locations. Along the years, I have experienced with other photography areas, such as macro, astrophotography or studio work.

My portfolio consists in well over 1000 images from around the globe, but not limited to. Only a small selection is showcased on this website. Most of them and more are available for purchase as royalty-free licenses (suitable for most personal and commercial uses) through the links provided in each image description. I collaborate with 5 stock agencies: Dreamstime, Adobe Stock, Getty Images / Istock, Alamy and Shutterstock (currently not recommended) .

For special request and other usages, please feel free to contact me using the contact form in the appropiate section. No usage is permited without my written consent or without purchasing a licence through the distributing agencies.

I sometimes take assignments. Feel free to get in touch if my experience can bring value to your project.

I have found my images used on internet, printed materials and even promotional musical clips. Among the local publishing houses, my images have been featured in L'Hebdo and Le Temps. In 2010, I have organized a photographic exhibition in Lausanne named "Magic Hour" (see details).

-Equipment

I have started photography with using compact digital cameras: the first one Canon Ixus 5MP and later on Canon Powershot G7. In 2008, I have joined the DSLR users group with a Canon 450D. After several upgrades along the years, today I am using a Canon 60D with a EF 17-40mm/f4.0 L USM lens for general use and a EF-S 60mm/f2.8 USM for macro and portraiture. For astrophotography, I use a refractor telescope SW ED80 600mm/f7.5 with an equatorial mount. To render High-Dynamic-Range (HDR) images, I am using Photomatix and for general post-processing Adobe Photoshop Elements 10.
