Build to frighten or to charm the castles of Europe, but not limited to are simply imposing. Their number is countless and each of them is unique. I've made a hobby from visiting and photographing them...
Founded in 1042 to guard the passage between Italy and France, the Castle of La Sarraz (north of Lausanne, Switzerland) stayed until 1948 in the control of the same family - the barons of La Sarraz, unlike other castles in Switzerland. Today is opened as a museum.
