Build to frighten or to charm the castles of Europe, but not limited to are simply imposing. Their number is countless and each of them is unique. I've made a hobby from visiting and photographing them...
Still sunset over the most famous castle in the world Chateau de Chambord in Loire Valley, France. The castle was completed in 1547 and lies in the middle of a huge hunting ground. Some attribute the design to Leonardo Da Vinci who had some connections with King Francois I (the builder) and lived in the area at the time of its conception. HDR image.
