When is neither day nor night; when the sun has set, but his light still lingers in the sky; when the street lamps are still warming up... It is the time to start installing my camera on the tripod...
The spire belong of one of the most important landmarks of Amsterdam, The Netherlands - Zuiderkerk, the first protestant church of the city build in 1603 after the designs of Hendrick de Keyser. The image is capturing the church tower at twilight time from a brige crossing the quiet Groenbrugwal canal, the same angle as a famous painting of Claude Monet. The church is located very close to the house of another famous painter, Rembrandt and is the place where few of his children were burried. Zuiderkerk is however not used anymore as a church since 1929. HDR image.
